DESCRIPTION: –

Experiences Zanzibar Island. The history of Zanzibar would be incomplete without the cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, pepper and many other spices which are an essential ingredient in the island’s everyday life. Get in-depth knowledge not only of spices but other organically grown herbs and their uses in traditional dishes as well as in cures and ailments on a half-day Spice tour. Cruising around the islands on a traditional boat is one of the best ways to experience Zanzibar. Visit Prison Island, a nature reserve for giant tortoises, just a 30minute boat trip from Zanzibar.
Snorkel or dive at Mafia, the first site of Tanzania's first marine national park, covering 800 square kilometers and with over 460 species of fish and fantastic corals.

Walk through the nature trail of the forest which is a habitat for many species of animals, and birds. It is famous for its Red Colobus Monkey. In the evening head to Stone Town to enjoy the buzz of this lively seaside town.

ITINERARY

Day 01: Arrival day free at leisure

Arrive at the Airport. Meet the Airport Rep and transfer to Sultan Sands Island Resort where youwill check in for 3 nights. Standard check-in time: 3 PM local time. Enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Day 02: At leisure or optional jozani national park tour

Today after your delicious breakfast, you can opt for the Jozani National Park tour. The Park is one of the few remaining rainforests of East Africa. You will walk through the luxurious green swamp forest on a uniquely designed boardwalk into the mangroves. You'll meet the little Zanzibar Red Colobus Monkeys, which are almost always here waiting for you, and the countless photos: they are adorable, with cute faces and long tails, and they move in large numbers of 20-30. Well, on a light note: expect them to do the monkey, after all, that’s them! Later drive to The Rock Restaurant for lunch (meals payable direct as per consumption) before being transferred back to the resort. After that, we will head back to the hotel and prepare for the next day to explore the ocean. Inclusions: breakfast and dinner at the hotel.

Day 03: Stone town tour & prison island tour

Today after your delicious breakfast, we will start our tour with our professional driver and certified guide to Stone Town where you will do a walking tour around the old town and learn a lot from the history of this city. You will visit local food markets, museums, a former slave market, and other historical buildings in the city. Afterward, head to Prison Island aboard a motorized boat where you can explore the wonderful adventure of how the island was portrayed to be a prison cell then later turned into a quarantine due to yellow fever during colonialism. Get a chance to visit the anonymous giant turtles exported as gifts for the late Sultan from Seychelles.

Known as Spice Island for years, Zanzibar gained this nickname due to the beautiful and amazing province of different kinds of spices. Get a hold of them and experience, touch, smell, and feel the delightful and astonishing aromas of the spices. After that, we will head back to the hotel and prepare for the next day to explore the ocean. Inclusions: breakfast at the hotel. Standard check-out time: 12-noon local time.

Day 4: Departure Day:
After breakfast transfer to airport for flight back to Nairobi.
